Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources: Non-subsidised Fuel Price Increase Follows Market Mechanism
Magelang - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the increase in prices of non-subsidised fuels such as Pertamax Turbo follows the market mechanism in accordance with applicable regulations.
He explained in Magelang on Saturday that the government emphasises that price controls are only applied to subsidised fuels, while fuels for industrial needs and affluent groups adjust to market prices.
Pertamax Turbo rises from Rp13,100 per litre to Rp19,400 per litre, Dexlite from Rp14,200 per litre to Rp23,600 per litre, and Pertamina Dex from Rp14,500 per litre to Rp23,900 per litre.
He conveyed this after serving as a speaker at the Local Leadership Enhancement Course at Akmil in Magelang.
According to him, these types of fuel are generally used by consumers from affluent groups, so their price movements follow global market dynamics.
In addition to Pertamax Turbo, diesel fuel with a cetane number (CN) of 51 is also categorised as non-subsidised fuel intended for the industrial sector and users with higher economic capacity.
He stated that regarding the potential for oil and gas exploration, the process still follows the applicable mechanism. Exploration activities begin through the tender process for work areas (oil and gas blocks).
The government ensures that all these processes are carried out transparently and in accordance with regulations to maintain the sustainability of the national energy sector.
