Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources: No increase in subsidised fuel and LPG
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has stated that there will be no price increases for subsidised fuel and LPG. Speaking at the 18th National Congress of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in Bandarlampung on Wednesday, he confirmed the decision was made on the direct orders of President Prabowo Subianto. “Today, on the orders of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, subsidised fuel and LPG will not increase in price,” Bahlil said. He explained that the government is currently formulating a natural resource-based economic management policy that prioritises the interests of the people and the state to support welfare, in line with the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. Bahlil noted that specific measures include overhauling the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB) in the mining sector to prevent economic inequality. “This is actually in line with the spirit of HIPMI’s struggle; we want this national policy direction to lift the small to become medium, the medium to become large, and the large to become even stronger,” he added. President Prabowo Subianto previously addressed the same congress, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the Constitution and the need to manage resource wealth independently for public prosperity.
