Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources' Expert Strengthens Indonesia-Russia Energy Diplomacy

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Satya Hangga Yudha Widya Putra, an expert advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), is strengthening energy diplomacy between Indonesia and Russia through KazanForum 2026. According to him, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday, the forum serves as an instrument in national energy diplomacy. “KazanForum, or the Russia-Islamic World International Economic Forum, is an annual platform designed to strengthen relations and cooperation between Russia and member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC),” he said. Satya Hangga Yudha Widya Putra participated in the international forum virtually on Wednesday (13/5/2026). In the forum, Hangga proactively navigated geopolitical uncertainties overshadowing national energy stability, particularly related to threats in the Strait of Hormuz and Middle East conflicts, which once pushed global oil prices above $100 US per barrel. Through KazanForum 2026, Hangga ensured that national energy stocks remain secure by strengthening collaboration with key partners such as Russia to guarantee solid and sustainable long-term supply stability for the domestic market. This diplomatic step is a tangible realisation of the second Astacita programme launched by the government to strengthen national defence and security through energy independence.
