Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Explains Paris Meeting with Macron
Prof Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, was among the few officials accompanying Indonesia’s official state visit to the Élysée Palace in Paris, France, on Thursday, 28 May 2026. During the visit, the Indonesian President was warmly received by French President Emmanuel Macron. In their joint statement, the leaders confirmed that higher education, research, innovation, and academic mobility are among the top priorities for bilateral cooperation. Minister Brian welcomed the outcomes of the leaders’ meeting. The agreement forms the basis for strengthening research capacity, developing highly skilled human resources, and enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness amid global dynamics. ‘Indonesia-France collaboration in higher education, science, technology, and innovation is a long-term investment to bolster national competitiveness,’ Brian stated in a press release from Jakarta on Friday, 29 May 2026.
