Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon views the 1447 Hijriah Idul Adha celebration as a crucial opportunity to reinforce values of sacrifice, sincerity, tolerance, and social solidarity deeply rooted in Indonesian society.

“Idul Adha is a significant commemoration, especially for Muslims celebrating it, as it embodies sacrifice, sincerity, tolerance, and social solidarity,” Fadli Zon said during a symbolic livestock donation ceremony at the grounds of Building A, Kemendikdasmen, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

The Minister noted these values have long been integral to Indonesia’s social and cultural life, including the tradition of assisting those in need.

“How this commemoration constantly reminds us of those in need, those requiring support, assistance, mutual help, and cooperation,” he added.

During the event, the Ministry of Culture gathered approximately 23 sacrificial cattle to be distributed to eligible recipients.

“This year, there are 23 cattle weighing between 300 and 600 kilograms,” he stated.

Abi explained that the slaughter would take place on Thursday (28 May) at Budang Sapi Tangerang Farm Slaughterhouse in Tigaraksa.

The meat would then be packed into two-kilogram parcels and distributed to beneficiaries and support staff within the Ministry of Culture on Friday (29 May).

The Minister said the number of sacrificial animals this year is similar to last year and hopes it becomes a good tradition within the ministry.

“This will be established as a tradition, to be given to those who are entitled,” he added.
