Minister of Cooperatives States that Construction of 3,135 Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperatives is Complete

Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono revealed that the physical construction of 3,135 Village/Urban Village Cooperatives (Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih) has now been completed. “(The Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih) that are 100% built and currently in operational preparation number 3,135,” stated Ferry at the Ministry of Cooperatives office on Monday (30/3). He added that there are currently 34,000 Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih still in the physical construction process, targeted to be 100% completed within the next one to two months. “But the 34,000 that are being built, which Insha Allah will be finished in one to two months ahead, their operational preparations will also be done,” said Ferry. Therefore, Ferry urged all Ministry of Cooperatives personnel to refocus and consolidate their efforts to ensure the success of the operationalisation phase of the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih, as well as other ministry tasks beyond this initiative. “Because this operational phase is, in our opinion, the stage that we must carry out as best as possible so that the implementation and operation of the Village/Urban Village Cooperatives Merah Putih is carried out well in accordance with the wishes of the President,” he emphasised. Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Farida Farichah added that she is optimistic the operationalisation of Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih can run smoothly, maximally, and optimally. “And ultimately, what is envisioned by the President can truly be felt by the communities in the villages,” she concluded.
