Minister of Communication and Digital Highlights Role of All Elements in Supporting Digital Connectivity in Regions

Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid stated that the government needs to collaborate with various parties to ensure connectivity runs smoothly. She highlighted the role of diverse elements that have supported digital connectivity in the regions.

“I am also moved; there were so many people from various elements, from schools, community health centres, then friends from the TNI, and of course the industry with their excellent cooperation with the government, making it easier for the government’s steps to continue ensuring that this connectivity can run well throughout the regions,” said Meutya at the Digital Connectivity Appreciation 2026 event initiated by detikcom on Friday (17/4/2026).

She stated that digital connectivity today is not just about networks but also about opening access, providing opportunities, and ensuring no one is left behind.

Meutya outlined the government’s clear commitment: Indonesia becoming increasingly connected, the ecosystem continuing to grow, and the digital space remaining protected, safe, and inclusive for all.

She also appreciated the recipients of the Digital Connectivity Appreciation 2026 awards, which included elements from society ranging from industry to the TNI.

“Congratulations to the Director and the Director, thank you to all of you, this is also an extraordinary initiative from the Director of Bakti, thank you Mrs Indah. Once again, thank you to all of you; hopefully the cooperation between the government, industry, and society can continue to guide so that our connectivity improves even further,” she said.

Meutya also praised the Digital Connectivity Appreciation 2026 event initiated by detikcom. According to her, the event serves as a space to appreciate the real contributions of individuals, communities, and institutions in expanding access and digital literacy in the country.

“I thank detikcom, which has curated this extraordinarily well. We indeed have the capability to build connectivity, but media friends, especially detikcom, are the most capable of curating,” she revealed.
