In relation to this, she praised Polri’s steps to continuously modernise public services, from reporting systems to case investigation techniques. “We highly appreciate the many new breakthroughs, so that digital services—both in terms of reporting and subsequent investigation—are enhanced,” she said. Meutya hopes that collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs and the Bhayangkara Corps can grow even stronger, particularly in eradicating crimes that are a priority for President Prabowo Subianto. “This includes online gambling, scams, and other crimes, especially those targeting children and vulnerable groups. We can do this even better moving forward,” Meutya added. On the same occasion, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasised that this work meeting aims to strengthen the professionalism of investigators. Enhancing the quality of human resources (HR) is important amid the development of the global situation that creates new legal gaps. “This work meeting is part of Bareskrim’s and its ranks’ efforts to continuously improve professionalism through strengthening the quality and capabilities of HR,” said General Sigit. General Sigit stressed that synergy between institutions is very important to carry out law enforcement optimally. Moreover, currently Polri is beginning to adjust to the new paradigm of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). “The new KUHP and KUHAP are now starting to take effect, and of course, adjustments are needed. We want to provide new hope related to the new paradigm that provides much room for restorative justice at all levels,” he stated. The former National Police Criminal Investigation Chief committed to continuously following developments in transnational crimes that seek loopholes through new modus operandi. He assured that Polri will continue to provide a sense of security and justice, especially for vulnerable community groups. “We also enforce the law firmly and thoroughly against perpetrators of crimes that endanger the state, endanger the public, and of course, how we continue to improve services to the public, especially vulnerable groups,” Sigit emphasised. “On one side, how we continue to follow developments in transnational crimes that certainly continue to evolve to find loopholes for new criminal modus operandi,” he concluded.
