Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Reviews 89 Successful Pupils from SDN Cipayung 01 in TKA
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti reviewed 89 pupils from SDN Cipayung 01 Ciputat, South Tangerang City, Banten Province, who successfully participated in the Academic Ability Test (TKA) for primary education levels 3 and 4.
During the monitoring of the TKA that day, Mu’ti urged the participating pupils to complete the TKA earnestly.
“Be enthusiastic in taking the TKA, believe in your own abilities, do not cheat, and complete this TKA with your capabilities. Do not forget to pray before working on the questions and may you achieve maximal results,” said Mendikdasmen Mu’ti in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.
On the same occasion, the Head of SDN Cipayung 01 Ciputat, Lina Marlina, stated that the success of the TKA implementation at her school was realised thanks to thorough preparations involving teachers and surrounding schools.
Lina added that her school only has 11 computer units, so the remaining devices were borrowed from SDN Cipayung 02 Ciputat and teachers at the school.
This collaborative effort, she said, enabled the pupils to complete the TKA questions smoothly.
In this year’s TKA implementation, she said SDN Cipayung 01 Ciputat participated with 89 pupils divided into two laboratory rooms with three implementation sessions.
Although not mandatory, the school encourages all pupils and parents to participate in the TKA as a form of evaluating learning abilities and preparation for entering junior high school.
Not only focusing on technological device readiness, TKA preparation efforts also cover mastery of exam materials.
In line with the Minister’s message, Lina realised the importance of creating Learning Communities (Kombel) among teachers as a forum for sharing knowledge and enhancing teacher competence to support pupils’ readiness in taking the TKA.
Lina hopes for continuous support from the central and regional governments in terms of training and facilities.
“I also hope for support from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to help improve the quality of education at our primary school,” said Lina.
