Minister of Basic and Secondary Education: Preparations for Computer-Based Academic Ability Test Reach Final Stage
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti stated that preparations for the computer-based Academic Ability Test (TKA) for primary and junior secondary education levels have reached the final stage.
Regarding infrastructure, Mu’ti explained that mechanisms have been arranged for schools that do not yet have computer facilities to still conduct the test.
“Schools that do not or do not yet have computers, we have arranged in such a way that they can borrow from other schools that are not conducting the TKA,” said Mendikdasmen Mu’ti in Jakarta on Thursday.
He also urged students and parents not to worry about the TKA because the test is not a determinant of graduation.
The focus of the TKA assessment, he said, is only on two subjects: Indonesian Language and Mathematics, while other provisions remain the authority of each educational unit.
Regarding TKA supervision, the Ministry of Education, Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is promoting the tagline “Honest and Joyful.” Minister Mu’ti firmly warned anyone who attempts to cheat during the test.
“We are firm in principle; if there is a student who cheats or a school that cheats, we will immediately nullify their score. Because the main thing is, of course, honesty,” he emphasised.
Mu’ti hopes that students can take the test with a joyful feeling to avoid psychological or mental block issues.
