Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, praised the creativity of schools in Bali, which he deemed successful in processing waste into useful products and supporting environmental preservation.

In his speech at the Denpasar Education Festival 2026 in Denpasar, Bali, on Thursday, Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu’ti expressed his admiration for the innovations in Balinese schools that not only implement the concepts of reduce, reuse, and recycle but also reproduce in waste management.

“I must admit I am impressed by the schools in Bali that can turn waste into beneficial products,” said the Minister.

The Minister believes these efforts will help maintain Bali as a comfortable and attractive tourist destination.

He stated that Bali’s main appeal lies not only in its natural beauty and culture but also in its environmental cleanliness, the friendliness of its people, and the comfort it offers to residents and visitors alike.

“Bali’s charm is its tourism allure, and tourism is undoubtedly determined by the cleanliness of the environment, the friendliness of the community, and the comfort for anyone living there,” said the Minister.

According to him, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is currently strengthening its safe and comfortable school programme, which promotes character-based education and environmental care.
