Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Leads 2026 National Education Day Ceremony in Banyuwangi
Banyuwangi (ANTARA) - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti led the ceremony commemorating National Education Day (Hardiknas) 2026 at Taman Blambangan in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, on Saturday.
“Alhamdulillah, the 2026 National Education Day commemoration in Banyuwangi is the most vibrant celebration in Indonesia,” said Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu’ti to reporters in Banyuwangi after the Hardiknas ceremony.
He stated that the 2026 Hardiknas celebration in the easternmost regency of Java Island was the most vibrant in Indonesia because it successfully blended local wisdom with the spirit of educational progress.
Abdul Mu’ti expressed thanks and appreciation to the Banyuwangi Regency Government, the Local Leadership Coordination Forum, educators, artists, parents of students, and students who have collaborated to create an inclusive educational ecosystem.
The vibrancy of the 2026 Hardiknas commemoration in Banyuwangi, he continued, should serve as a shared spirit and enthusiasm to strengthen universal participation in realising quality education for all.
“And in accordance with the directive from President Prabowo Subianto, we must build an outstanding, strong, and great generation because they will advance Indonesia, making it an advanced and dignified country,” said Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu’ti.
“The spirit of National Education Day must continue to be enhanced so that we all become more earnest in advancing education to enlighten the life of the nation,” he added.
From observations, the 2026 Hardiknas ceremony centred in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, was led by Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu’ti, accompanied directly by Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, and attended by the Local Leadership Coordination Forum and thousands of student participants.
