Jakarta (ANTARA) — Indonesia’s Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti delivered a special message whilst inspecting preparations for the 2026 Academic Ability Test (TKA) for junior secondary school level at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of State Junior Secondary School 2 Peudada, Bireun District, Aceh Province.

“This afternoon we are visiting UPTD SMPN 2 Peudada to ensure TKA preparations proceed smoothly. We certainly encourage students to undertake this TKA with the slogan and spirit of honesty and joy,” said Minister Mu’ti in a written statement released in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Regarding the implementation of the TKA at primary and junior secondary school levels, he noted both levels would be examined in Indonesian Language and Mathematics, with the objective of measuring literacy capability through the Indonesian Language examination and assessing numeracy standards in the Mathematics examination.

“The TKA results will subsequently form one assessment aspect in the 2026 new student admission system (SPMB) through the merit pathway. We hope for full support from regional government and all stakeholders in the education sector of Bireun District so that the TKA implementation proceeds smoothly and is executed with the spirit of honesty and joy,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mathematics teacher at UPTD SMPN 2 Peudada Dewi Nofita stated that the use of Digital Interactive Boards (PID) has been extremely beneficial for her and the students in preparing for the TKA.

“For TKA preparation, students have been deepening their examination materials since the start of the even semester. For these two subjects, we have each allocated 10 hours of study time per week on a rotating basis. We are grateful that preparation has been proceeding very well and we hope our students achieve the best results,” said Dewi.

As a 2026 TKA participant, year 9 student of UPTD SMPN 2 Peudada Haiyatul Husna felt extremely prepared to sit the TKA in April.

Amid the post-disaster situation, Husna expressed gratitude that she could still prepare herself well to achieve maximum marks on the 2026 TKA.

“I was delighted to meet Minister Mu’ti and receive encouragement and motivation from him. For TKA preparation, I work on practice questions and study materials every day at school. I certainly hope for the best marks so I can progress to upper secondary school or vocational school,” said Husna.
