Minister of Basic and Secondary Education affirms WFH policy not due to crisis
Pekalongan (ANTARA) - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti has affirmed that the Work From Home (WFH) policy is not due to a crisis but rather based on considerations for living frugally. “In accordance with the President’s directive, (the WFH policy) is to cultivate frugal living and good habits so that all available energy resources can be used for the best purposes,” he said after the Halal Bihalal event of the Muhammadiyah Regency of Pekalongan on Friday. According to him, work from home does not apply to educational institutions such as schools, so teaching and learning activities will continue to be conducted face-to-face. He stated that the work-from-home policy applies to offices such as those in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, as on Fridays. “We will clarify the difference between work from home and work from anywhere (WFA). With WFA, employees can be anywhere scattered, but work from home means they are at their homes, so when called for a meeting, they can attend because their position is not far from the office,” he said. “So there are reporting mechanisms and types of work according to their respective main duties and functions,” he added.
