Minister of ATR Proposes Additional Budget for 3 Million Houses Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Nusron Wahid has proposed additional funding to implement the 3 Million Houses programme.
“The Ministry of ATR/BPN is proposing additional budget to the Minister Secretary of State and the Minister of Finance to carry out the 3 million houses programme and the acceleration of Detailed Spatial Planning (RDTR) as well as revisions to the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW,” said Nusron during a Working Meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He explained that the acceleration of RDTR and revisions to RTRW are particularly focused on organising certifications for slum settlements that will be developed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
“If we wait for the pure Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL), because PTSL is based on regional areas, whereas this is thematic, with a housing theme, so some areas not covered by PTSL will be included here,” he added.
“This includes Jakarta, because of the slum settlements in Jakarta. The additional budget needed to meet the 3 million houses target is approximately Rp672 billion,” he said.
For information, President Prabowo Subianto has instructed several ministries and agencies to build housing for residents still living along railway tracks, after previously inspecting settlements around the tracks in the Senen area, Jakarta.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya conveyed that the President has ordered the Minister of Public Works (PU), the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Perum Perumnas, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, and related officials to build decent housing and bathing, washing, and toilet facilities (MCK) for communities still living along the Senen railway tracks.
President Prabowo Subianto directly inspected the densely populated settlements along the Senen railway tracks in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, surprising residents as it was unannounced.
The Government Communication Agency stated that upon arriving at the location, the President got out of the vehicle and greeted the people. Residents from various backgrounds appeared enthusiastic, approaching to shake hands and directly convey their aspirations.
Prabowo stated that the government will move quickly to prepare the construction of decent housing for residents along the tracks.
