Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid has handed over waqf land certificates and channelled initial assistance from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for the construction of a mosque affected by a hydrometeorological disaster in 2025.

‘I am handing over the certificate on behalf of the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN,’ Nusron said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. On that occasion, Minister Nusron handed over the waqf land certificate for the Salman Alfarisi Mosque in Aceh Tamiang Regency.

In addition, Nusron, who also serves as Chairman of the MUI for Disaster Management on the MUI Central Board, handed over donor funds to support the rehabilitation of places of worship in disaster-affected areas. Nusron stated that for Aceh Province, the MUI has designated the Salman Alfarisi Mosque as the recipient of construction assistance with a total value of Rp2 billion, to be disbursed in stages according to construction progress.

‘I am also here on behalf of the MUI to deliver the donations entrusted by donors. This is not assistance from me, but a mandate entrusted through the MUI to help communities affected by the disaster,’ said Minister Nusron. In the initial phase, he handed over Rp500 million, with further disbursements to be adjusted according to developments in the field.

Post-disaster rehabilitation in Aceh Tamiang is ongoing. The government is currently focusing on the recovery of the agricultural sector, infrastructure, and residential housing. The Ministry of Agriculture has rehabilitated 2,212 hectares of rice fields through the Aceh Centre for the Implementation of Agricultural Modernisation programme, while the construction of 200 permanent houses by the Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation and in-situ permanent housing for affected residents continues.

In addition, the government is accelerating the restoration of land certificates for affected communities and running labour-intensive programmes to revive the local economy. The Aceh Provincial Government is also intensively evaluating the rehabilitation and reconstruction of vital infrastructure to ensure it remains on target.

During his visit, Minister Nusron also reviewed the current state of services at the Aceh Tamiang Regency Land Office and inspected the location of permanent housing for disaster-affected communities. In the land sector, the Ministry of ATR/BPN is supporting the rehabilitation process by preparing land for the construction of permanent housing, issuing replacement certificates for documents lost or damaged due to the disaster, and formulating land consolidation schemes for areas that have undergone physical changes due to flooding.
