Minister Nusron: Food Security Requires Legal Certainty Over Land

Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid has stressed that legal certainty over land rights is a primary factor in supporting the realisation of food security. He stated that food security cannot be separated from legal certainty over land. Beyond legal certainty, the Ministry of ATR/BPN also supports food security through sustainable spatial planning and the protection of agricultural land. The ministry is committed to ensuring that every productive plot of land can be utilised optimally as a foundation for achieving national food self-sufficiency and sovereignty. The minister made these remarks while accompanying President Prabowo Subianto at the TNI Grand Harvest event held at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base in Malang. He noted that the simultaneous harvest event, conducted across 43 locations throughout Indonesia, was made possible through cross-sector collaboration. This synergy is a tangible effort by the government to increase production, strengthen downstream processing, and improve the welfare of farmers. Various crops were harvested during the Malang event, including sugarcane, rice, and soybeans.
