Minister Nusron Commits to Accelerating Land Grant Process for 3 Million Homes Programme

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, has ensured that the land grant process for the 3 million houses programme will be accelerated so that the land can be utilised immediately.

“We are committed to speeding up the grant process so that parties wishing to assist the government are not discouraged by excessively long procedures,” said Nusron in Jakarta on Monday.

The government has received a commitment for a land grant covering 30 hectares from PT Lippo CKS in the Meikarta area to support the 3 million houses programme.

As a concrete step to accelerate the grant process, the Ministry of ATR/BPN, according to Nusron, will immediately coordinate with the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance and relevant parties to finalise the administrative process of the grant.

“Tomorrow, we will hold a meeting directly with our officials and colleagues from the DJKN. We will review the documents, and hopefully, it will be completed in less than a month. As long as the underlying data is ‘clean and clear’, we will immediately implement whatever can be executed,” he said.

The land grant commitment document was signed by several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the Chairman of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, and the Board of Directors of PT Lippo Group.

It is planned that low-cost flats for low-income communities will be constructed on the land located in the Meikarta, Cikarang area. These flats are part of the support for the 3 Million Houses Programme, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes to improve public access to decent housing.
