Minister Nusron Commits to Accelerating Land Grant Process for 3 Million Homes Programme

Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid has confirmed he will accelerate the land grant process for the 3 million homes programme so the land can be utilised immediately. “We are committed to speeding up the grant process so that parties wishing to assist the government are not deterred by overly lengthy procedures,” Nusron said in Jakarta on Monday. The government has received a commitment for a 30-hectare land grant from PT Lippo Cikarang in the Meikarta area to support the 3 million homes programme. As a concrete step to accelerate the grant process, the ATR/BPN Ministry will immediately coordinate with the Directorate General of State Assets (DJKN) at the Ministry of Finance and other relevant parties to complete the grant administration. “Tomorrow we will hold a meeting with the team and colleagues from DJKN. We will review the documents, and hopefully it will be completed in less than a month. As long as the materials are ‘clean and clear’, whatever we can execute, we will execute immediately,” he stated. The document stating the land grant commitment was signed by several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency, and the Board of Directors of PT Lippo Group. The plan is to build flats for low-income communities on the land located in the Meikarta area, Cikarang. These flats are part of the support for the 3 Million Homes programme, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes to improve public access to decent housing.
