Mataram (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, monitored the preparations for the Hajj pilgrimage at the Asrama Haji, Lombok Embarkation Point, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Friday evening.

During his inspection, Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, accompanied by NTB Deputy Governor Indah Dhamayanti Putri, checked each service provided by the PPIH Lombok Embarkation team one by one, including conversing with several pilgrims already at the NTB Hajj Dormitory in Mataram City.

Mochamad Irfan Yusuf stated that after observing the situation and condition of services at the NTB Hajj Dormitory, they are proceeding well, although he acknowledged one or two technical issues found on site. However, these can be addressed immediately so as not to disrupt services for the pilgrims.

“The issues that arise can be overcome so as not to interfere with the overall plan for pilgrim services,” he said.

“If indeed deemed unfit to fly, we support whatever decision the health team makes because they know the pilgrims’ conditions precisely,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the NTB Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Regional Office and Chairman of the PPIH Lombok Embarkation, Lalu Muhamad Amin, acknowledged several emphases conveyed by Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, starting with the physical readiness (istitha’ah) and health of pilgrims that need serious attention from the PPIH.

“So, the minister strongly supports the examinations conducted by the health team in determining whether pilgrims are fit or not to depart,” Amin stressed.

Amin assured that his side is committed to providing the best services for the smooth running of the entire 2026 Hajj pilgrimage series.

“This is for the comfort, security, and safety of NTB Hajj pilgrims from departure until their return to the homeland,” he said.
