Minister Maman Says 200,000 Disaster-Affected MSME Debtors Receive Loan Relaxation Totalling Rp 12 Trillion
Jakarta — The government has provided various forms of loan relaxation to 200,000 MSME debtors affected by natural disasters who hold loans with banks.
Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman disclosed that the figure represents the government's latest data, with total outstanding credit reaching approximately Rp 12 trillion.
"These are our latest figures — 200,000 debtors with total outstanding credit of around Rp 12 trillion," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
He provided a detailed breakdown showing that the affected debtors are spread across three provinces: approximately 125,000 debtors in Aceh with Rp 7 trillion in outstanding credit, around 53,000 debtors in North Sumatra with Rp 3 trillion, and approximately 28,000 debtors in West Sumatra with Rp 1.7 trillion.
Maman said the government has prepared a number of programmes to assist MSMEs that have accessed bank financing, including interest rate relief, the provision of grace periods, collectability status arrangements, credit restructuring, relaxation of additional collateral requirements, easier access to new People's Business Credit (KUR), and proposals for credit write-offs.
He explained that all these schemes have been accommodated within government policy, which is divided into three periods: mapping, relaxation, and recovery, planned to run through to 2027.
"We have divided it into three periods — the mapping period, relaxation, and recovery through to December 2027," he said.
On the other hand, the government is also paying attention to MSMEs that have not yet accessed bank financing. He noted that mapping, monitoring, evaluation, and mentoring processes are still ongoing.
In addition, he said, central and regional governments are coordinating to optimise various forms of support, including through the utilisation of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes.
