Minister of UMKM, Maman Abdurrahman, has partnered with Tokopedia and TikTok Shop to present the programme ‘Waktunya STARt! Jadi Juragan UMKM’ at the Dekranasda Gallery & UKM Center in Balikpapan. The programme, part of the Festival of Ease and Protection for Micro Enterprises, aims to help micro-entrepreneurs become more prepared to grow within the digital ecosystem, primarily through strengthening business legality such as the Business Identification Number (NIB) and halal certification, while simultaneously enhancing marketing capacity in the era of discovery commerce. Maman expressed appreciation to Tokopedia, TikTok Shop, and all strategic partners for supporting micro-entrepreneurs in facing the challenges of the digital market era. ‘The current challenge is that we have entered the digital market era. Therefore, all micro, small, and medium enterprises must become increasingly familiar with the e-commerce ecosystem,’ Maman stated on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. He added that the Ministry of UMKM is committed to maintaining a healthy and equitable digital ecosystem for all parties. ‘Marketplaces and sellers are like two sides of a coin that cannot be separated. The more business activity on e-commerce, the more positive the algorithm will be. However, product quality remains the main factor in maintaining consumer trust,’ he said. Senior Director of Tokopedia and TikTok Shop Indonesia, Vonny Susamto, affirmed the company’s commitment to supporting local UMKM through the #JualanNyaman initiative. ‘Tokopedia and TikTok Shop continue to assist business owners in obtaining NIB and halal certification, while also improving skills in creating video content and opening access to collaborations with creators,’ she stated. The ‘Waktunya STARt! Jadi Juragan UMKM’ programme has reached hundreds of UMKM participants in various regions since April 2025. Its presence in Balikpapan is part of efforts to strengthen the local business ecosystem to be more competitive in the digital era. According to internal data from TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, the transaction value increase for a number of sellers utilising short videos and LIVE sessions reached more than 30-fold in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter of 2024. In addition to providing business legality assistance, the programme also offers business clinics covering education on creating promotional content based on short videos and LIVE sessions.
