Minister links Eid al-Adha to stronger migrant worker protection
In a statement received here on Wednesday, Mukhtarudin stated that the essence of qurban is about sincerity, sacrifice, and social care, including strengthening the protection of migrant workers.
“For us, this spirit of sacrifice must be manifested into a tangible commitment, namely providing total, sincere, and selfless protection to our ‘Ambassadors of the Nation’,” Mukhtarudin said.
While wishing a Happy Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri to all Muslims, especially Indonesian migrant workers across the globe, he expressed his highest appreciation and dedication to migrant workers celebrating the holy day far from their hometowns.
“I know very well what it feels like to celebrate the holy day in a foreign country, far from the embrace of family. However, believe me, the sacrifice and sincerity of all of you who are fighting for the welfare of your families back home is very noble,” he said.
Mukhtarudin emphasized that the momentum of Eid al-Adha serves as a catalyst for his ministry to continue accelerating strategic programs to strengthen placement governance.
“As well as tightening legal protection and welfare for migrant workers and their families,” he said.
Mukhtarudin expressed hope that the values of social solidarity in the qurban ritual could strengthen the nation’s sense of brotherhood, both for those at home and abroad.
“May the spirit of sacrifice bring blessings, peace, and safety to us all, and may Indonesian migrant workers always remain under His protection,” he said.
