Minister Invites Gen Z to Learn About Cooperatives Through Fun Run with Governor Pramono

The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) held the GenCoopRun fun run during Car Free Day (CFD) on Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta. The event formed part of the ministry’s commemorations of the 79th National Cooperatives Day.

“Today, this morning, we are holding the GenCoopRun. ‘Gen’ reflects the cooperatives movement’s aim of targeting the younger generation, millennials and Gen Z, and this morning’s GenCoopRun is part of the series of events commemorating the 79th National Cooperatives Day,” said Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono in front of the Kemenkop office on Jalan Rasuna Said on Sunday (19/7/2026).

The event was also attended by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. Ferry expressed appreciation to Pramono Anung for transforming Jalan Rasuna Said into a more attractive thoroughfare.

“We extend our sincerest thanks to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pak Pramono Anung, who has transformed the face of Jalan Haji Rangkayo Rasuna Said here in Kuningan into a greener, more beautiful place that can be used to host Car Free Day activities of various kinds,” he said.

Ferry expressed hope that the GenCoopRun, organised together with the Indonesian Cooperatives Council (Dekopin), could serve as a means for participants to live more healthily.

“And hopefully this GenCoopRun event, organised by the Ministry of Cooperatives together with the Indonesian Cooperatives Council, will run smoothly and can become a vehicle for us to live even healthier lives,” he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the Ministry of Cooperatives was the first ministry to hold a fun run at the Rasuna Said car free day. He hoped the participants would run joyfully.

“This is the first time a ministry has held a fun run event on Jalan Rasuna Said. And hopefully, since the road is now quite tidy, everyone will be happy and cheerful — safe running,” said Pramono.

Pramono hoped that more events like GenCoopRun would make Jakarta ever more colourful. He noted that many people now use the Rasuna Said car free day as a venue for exercise.

“Hopefully events like this, and cooperation like this, will make the ministries and agencies, and of course Jakarta, ever more colourful. And nowadays many people are taking advantage of it to exercise so they can live healthier lives,” he said.
