Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Minister of Population and Family Development (Mendukbangga) and Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) of the Republic of Indonesia, Wihanc, inspected the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Southeast Aceh Regency to ensure that nutritional services are operating optimally.

The Head of the BKKBN Aceh Representative, Safrina Salim, stated in Southeast Aceh on Wednesday that the unit visited by the Minister was SPPG Pulonas 02, located in the Babussalam District, Southeast Aceh Regency.

During the inspection, Minister Wihaji personally observed the food processing procedures, the implementation of hygiene standards, and the distribution mechanisms for delivering meals to beneficiaries.

SPPG Pulonas 02 serves 2,316 portions of nutritious food every day, intended for students and target groups of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. This includes 463 daily portions specifically for the ‘3B’ group, consisting of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.

“Kitchen operations are supported by 47 workers operating six days a week to ensure services run smoothly and on time,” said Safrina Salim.

Safrina Salim noted that Minister Wihaji expressed his appreciation for the SPPG management, which is functioning effectively and reaching thousands of beneficiaries daily. She added that President Prabowo Subianto has mandated that the MBG programme be distributed precisely to its intended targets, and the SPPG serves as a vital instrument in efforts to improve the quality of human resources from an early age.

“Through the provision of safe, healthy, and high-quality nutritious food, we hope to support child development and accelerate stunting prevention efforts in the region,” said Safrina Salim.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Southeast Aceh, Salim Fakhry, expressed the local government’s commitment to supporting various programmes aimed at improving family quality and accelerating the reduction of stunting. “The presence of Minister Wihaji serves as motivation for us to continue strengthening synergy in enhancing nutritional services for the community to realise a healthy and high-quality generation in Southeast Aceh,” said Salim Fakhry.
