Jakarta - Manpower Minister (Menaker) Yassierli has stated that building a culture of innovation is an important effort to improve the quality of employment services for the public and to create an adaptive organisation.

“This culture of innovation is a necessity because what we are doing now, our services, are greatly needed by the public. The public has high expectations of us,” the Minister said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to Yassierli, innovation is a concrete manifestation of the spirit promoted by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). He said this culture is important because the employment services provided by the government are directly related to the needs of the public, who have high expectations for service quality.

Yassierli said that there is always room for improvement within the organisation. “Therefore, every individual at Kemnaker needs to build a mindset that there is always an opportunity to produce something better,” he said.

According to Yassierli, this spirit must become part of the work culture across all levels of Kemnaker. The resulting innovations should not only be aimed at benefiting the organisation but must also deliver a better impact for the public.

He added that this spirit of innovation aligns with the ‘One Kemnaker’ value, which promotes a spirit of working as one ministry with one goal and one contribution.

“Because of that, innovations developed by each work unit need to be seen as part of a collective effort to improve Kemnaker’s performance,” he said.

The Minister emphasised that generating an innovation is one thing, but ensuring that the innovation can be implemented in practice is the next challenge. He therefore assessed that change management is necessary so that the ideas produced can be accepted, implemented, and provide sustainable benefits.

“The challenge after innovation is implementation. How change management, how we bring about innovation and change, so that it is accepted and can be implemented,” he said.
