Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto has handed over social assistance in the form of house renovations in Warungkiara, Sukabumi, West Java. A total of 24 houses have been built under the programme, spread across several regions in Indonesia. Agus stated that this house renovation aid is partly funded by the proceeds from a bumper harvest at Cirebon Prison last January. The house renovations aim to make the dwellings fit for habitation. “The social service activity in the form of house renovations has actually been carried out; 24 units have already been built. Six units in East Java at Class IIB Tuban Prison, five units in Warung Kiara, three units in Situbondo, three units in Penyabungan, one unit in Trenggalek, one unit in Batusangkar, one unit in Amuntai, three units in Palembang, and three units in Muara Sabak, Jambi,” Agus said in his speech at Warungkiara Prison, Sukabumi, West Java, on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Agus added that the programme also targets places of worship. He also mentioned that the plantation at Warungkiara Prison received assistance. “Today it is house and place of worship renovations, as well as the optimisation of the Berkah Mandiri Assimilation and Education Facility in Sukabumi,” he explained. Agus continued, saying that the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections has currently planned to build affordable housing for its employees. This approach is intended to ensure the welfare of its staff. “Last month we already laid the foundation stone for affordable housing for employees within the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections in cooperation with Bank Rakyat Indonesia, with a flat interest rate of 7.5% over 25 years. This is hopefully also part of our effort to support the provision of housing for all Indonesian citizens,” he added.
