Minister gives vehicles to NTB police

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: Minister of Tourism and Culture I
Gde Ardhika gave 30 motorcycles and one car to West Nusa Tenggara
(NTB) Police on Tuesday to help them maintain security on Lombok
island.

The 30 Yamaha RX Kings and one Kijang were symbolically
presented to provincial police chief Brig. Gen. Sutomo Tjokro
Atmodjo.

"NTB receives the vehicle assistance because it is one of the
country's tourist destinations for foreign visitors. The region
should therefore remain peaceful," Ardhika said in the province's
capital of Mataram.

He said he hoped the aid would be useful for the local police
to improve professionalism in protecting the people.

Aside from NTB, the minister also provided similar assistance
to police in other tourist resorts, Bali, Batam in Riau and
Yogyakarta. --Antara
