Minister for Villages Invites Al-Khairiyah Foundation to Collaborate on Village Development
Indonesia’s Minister for Villages and Underdeveloped Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto inaugurated a Ramadan sermon at the Al-Khairiyah Foundation in Citangkil, Cilegon, on 1 March 2026, inviting the foundation to become an export player in the government’s village development agenda.
“I am delighted and proud to be present in Citangkil,” Yandri said in his opening remarks.
Yandri visited the Al-Khairiyah Foundation on 28 February, proposing a collaboration to develop 75,266 villages nationwide through priority programmes such as the Village Export initiative.
“We have created many young entrepreneurs, and now villages are able to export,” Yandri stated.
Yandri noted that Banten province alone has more than 1,000 villages, and he expressed hope that Al-Khairiyah would adopt villages through collaborative partnerships with the Ministry for Villages and Underdeveloped Regions.
The collaboration would enable Al-Khairiyah students and alumni to become export entrepreneurs, as well as developers of tourism villages and thematic villages.
According to Yandri, thematic villages are closely linked to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, as they would become suppliers of raw materials for the initiative, which currently benefits over 60 million recipients.
“I pray that the Al-Khairiyah family, especially its students, will become accomplished and successful individuals in both worldly and spiritual matters,” Yandri concluded.
The event was attended by Banten Governor Andra Soni, Cilegon Deputy Mayor Fajar Hadi Prabowo, Al-Khairiyah Foundation Chairman KH Ali Mujahidin, Shura Council Chairman KH Mansyur Muchyiddin, Al-Khairiyah University Rector Dr Rafiuddin, Al-Khairiyah Foundation Secretary General H Ahmad Munji, Cilegon regional leadership forum members (Forkompimda), and Al-Khairiyah students.
