Minister for Population and Family Development hands over housing assistance to stunting-risk families in Aceh
The Minister for Population and Family Development, who also serves as the Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), Wihaji, has handed over assistance for the rehabilitation of three houses to stunting-risk families in Southeast Aceh.
The Head of the BKKBN Aceh Representative Office, Safrina Salim, stated in Southeast Aceh on Tuesday that Minister Wihaji presented the houses during his visit to the regency on Tuesday (2/6). “This assistance is a form of collaboration between various parties to create a healthy residential environment that supports optimal child growth and development,” she said.
In addition, Minister Wihaji, alongside the Southeast Aceh Regency Government, also handed over assistance for the construction of three healthy latrines distributed across several districts in the regency. Safrina Salim noted that the Minister’s visit to the region aimed to ensure that interventions focus not only on nutritional aspects but also on the environment and sanitation, which are indirect causes of stunting.
Minister Wihaji also engaged in dialogue with Beneficiary Families (KPM) and Family Assistance Teams (TPK) who have been supporting stunting-risk families. “The Minister also expressed his appreciation for the active role of cadres and local governments in ensuring that various family development programmes are implemented effectively down to the village level,” added Safrina Salim.
