Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono has revealed that the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) will become partners with banks in the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR). This is made possible through a channelling scheme aimed at expanding financing access for business actors in villages. Ferry conveyed this at the Best Cooperatives Sustainability Performance Award 2026 event in Jakarta. In addition to KUR distribution, Ferry stated that KDKMP will also serve the Mekaar financing scheme from PNM. “All central government programmes, including direct cash assistance, social assistance, food aid, and others, will later be distributed through KDKMP. And the distribution of the KUR channelling scheme will also be implemented at KDKMP,” Ferry said. He explained that PNM Mekaar is an unsecured business capital loan service from PT Permodalan Nasional Madani, part of the BRI Group, for ultra-micro business actors from underprivileged families, especially women, who are not yet bankable. Ferry added that KDKMP will also be developed as an outlet for banking services, particularly for banks that are members of the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara). Furthermore, Ferry said the government is also preparing a Presidential Regulation that will govern the distribution of various subsidised goods through the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives. According to him, commodities such as 3-kilogram LPG, subsidised fertiliser, Minyakita, and rice will be distributed through the Red and White Cooperatives as a follow-up to a limited meeting decision with President Prabowo Subianto. “God willing, a Presidential Regulation will be issued in the near future to discuss the distribution of subsidised goods,” he said. In a limited meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, it was decided that KDKMP would become a government infrastructure to distribute social assistance and subsidised goods to the public. Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan said that besides being a distributor of social assistance and subsidised goods, KDKMP will also act as an offtaker of farmers’ harvests, particularly unhusked rice, rice, and corn, if the prices of these commodities fall below the government-set price.
