Minister of Population and Family Development (Mendukbangga)/Head of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) Wihaji stated that the network of Family Support Teams (TPK) could be empowered to provide education on the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers (3B). Wihaji said in Jakarta on Wednesday that this effort is crucial to raising public awareness about the importance of consuming healthy and nutritious food for families. He stressed that the implementation of the MBG programme for the 3B group is also a focus of the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN. Based on data from the Family Information System (SIGA), there are currently 128,477 TPKs distributing MBG services daily to approximately 9.9 million beneficiaries across Indonesia. “The strength of the TPK network is not only an instrument for programme distribution but also has great potential to strengthen public education. We must utilise it well, for example, by equipping TPKs regarding priority programmes,” said Wihaji. He emphasised that the success of family development is determined by programmes that are well-targeted and provide real benefits to the community. With this spirit, the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN continues to strengthen the acceleration of various priority programmes. Various programmes are showing positive progress, ranging from family planning services, the development of childcare services through Taman Asuh Sayang Anak (Tamasya), assistance for families at risk of stunting through the Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting (Genting) programme, to improving the quality of life for the elderly through the Lansia Berdaya (Sidaya) programme. These efforts are part of the Ministry’s commitment to delivering integrated interventions for family development across the entire life cycle. As part of strengthening programme implementation, the Ministry continues to support various national priority programmes, including the Sekolah Rakyat initiative. Minister Wihaji affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate through existing programmes. “We can collaborate with the Ministry’s programmes related to population schools, the Youth Information and Counselling Centre (PIK-R), the Generasi Berencana (Genre) programme, and mental health,” he said. He concluded that the success of family development is ultimately measured not just by programme achievements, but by the tangible, positive changes felt by every Indonesian family. With a spirit of collaboration and strengthened governance, the Ministry will continue to ensure that priority programmes are increasingly well-targeted and provide sustainable benefits as a foundation for realising the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
