Minister ensures Merah Putih Village Cooperatives will not undermine BUMDes

I believe there will be no overlap. In fact, they can strengthen one another.

The Minister of Villages and Regional Development, Yandry Susanto, has ensured that the presence of the Merah Putih Village/Ward Cooperatives (KDKMP) will not stifle the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) that have been operating in various regions.

“No. As the Minister of Villages, when KDKMP was first being formed, my question to the President was: what about BUMDes? They will continue to operate, because there are indeed differences between KDKMP and BUMDes,” the Minister stated in Bandar Lampung on Friday.

He explained that KDKMP is a cooperative owned broadly by the village community, whereas BUMDes is a business entity owned by the village that conducts business activities according to the specific potential and needs of each village.
