Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Moch. Irfan Yusuf has assured that preparations for Hajj services are nearly complete ahead of the departure of the first batch of pilgrims, scheduled for 22 April 2026. “Hajj service readiness is almost 100% complete. The current stage involves final checks of all services ahead of Hajj operations,” said Menhaj Moch. Irfan Yusuf during a press conference at the Presidential Staff Office in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that accommodations for pilgrims have been prepared, including 177 hotels and 51 kitchens in Makkah, and 100 hotels and 23 kitchens in Madinah. In addition, he assured that adequate healthcare services have been arranged in both cities, directly supervised by Saudi German Hospital. Irfan also confirmed that all Nusuk cards have arrived in Indonesia and are expected to be distributed and activated by prospective Hajj pilgrims at embarkation points in Indonesia. There are a total of 16 embarkation departure points, with additions in Cipondoh and Yogyakarta. On another note, he mentioned that regional conflicts in the Middle East remain a concern for the government. “The President has instructed us to make the safety and security of pilgrims the top priority. He conveyed this during last Ramadan. We are focusing on the safety and security of pilgrims,” he explained. He added that the President has ensured that, unless there is further information from the Saudi Arabian government, Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims are ready to depart for the Holy Land.
