JAKARTA - The Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, has ensured that all pilgrims from the first quota of Embarkasi Jakarta-Pondok Gede (JKG-01) have met the complete administrative requirements before being sent to Saudi Arabia.

“We emphasise that only pilgrims who possess Hajj visas will be dispatched. This is important to avoid rejections in Saudi Arabia and to ensure that pilgrims can carry out the entire series of worship properly,” said Irfan Yusuf in his statement, quoted on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

A total of 391 pilgrims from East Jakarta, who are part of the JKG-01 quota, were officially farewelled for their departure at the Class I Hajj Dormitory in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4/2026) night.

He explained that the administrative verification process is conducted strictly, starting from travel documents, Hajj visas, to the completeness of pilgrims’ health data.

This is done to ensure that all pilgrims meet the provisions set by the Indonesian government as well as Saudi authorities.

In addition, the government has also prepared a reserve pilgrim scheme as part of quota administration management.

This scheme is used to anticipate the possibility of empty seats due to cancellations.

All pilgrims previously underwent the process of entering the Hajj dormitory as an initial stage, including document checks and final validation before departure.

With a strict and integrated administration system, the government hopes that the entire Hajj dispatch process for 1447 H/2026 AD will run smoothly without obstacles, especially regarding travel documents and entry permits to Saudi Arabia.
