Minister: Dukuh Atas 'Donut Bridge' to Connect Six Transport Modes
Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has stated that the construction of the transit-oriented development (TOD) area at Sudirman Station in Central Jakarta, often referred to as the ‘Donut Bridge’, will integrate six modes of transport. This will strengthen connectivity and public mobility in Jakarta. ‘Later, in that TOD, we will see the connectivity of six modes of Jakarta transport,’ Dudy said during a discussion with journalists in Jakarta on Friday evening. He mentioned that the six rail transport services to be closely interconnected in the area include the KRL Commuter Line, Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jabodebek, LRT Jakarta, and the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Rail Link. Thus, the Sudirman Station TOD will become an integration hub for six transport modes to facilitate passenger transfers. According to Dudy, the construction of the Donut Bridge is targeted for completion by 2028 and will be fully carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through PT MRT Jakarta. The transit-oriented area is designed to be a connectivity centre linking various mass transit services, enabling faster, more comfortable, and efficient daily travel for the public.
