Minister Dody Uses This Method to Clean Up the Ministry of Public Works
Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo has confirmed that he will form and activate an Audit Committee as a step to strengthen cleaning efforts within his ministry. This measure follows findings of irregularities in audit reports and indications of “deep state” practices in the Ministry of Public Works environment. “Oh yes,” said Dody when confirming the Audit Committee activation plan, quoted on Wednesday (1/4/2026). He emphasised that the formation of the Audit Committee is part of concrete steps to improve governance and ensure more optimal oversight processes. “Just wait. It’s just the names. Who they are. I just need to issue the Minister’s Decree,” he stated. Dody said the need to activate the Audit Committee is increasingly urgent amid indications of abnormalities in the internal audit process that he discovered. According to him, this step is also a response to the internal condition deemed not entirely clean, thus requiring strengthened oversight mechanisms. “Oh, not clean. No. There are no clean people. But as I said earlier, the majority of the Ministry of Public Works is still good. Still clean,” said Dody. Dody emphasised that the formation of the Audit Committee is one of the important instruments in efforts to clean the ministry from deviant practices. He also assured that the process will soon run after the structure and composition of the Audit Committee members are established through a ministerial decision.
