Minister Dody states that the determination of the Directors General for Cipta Karya and Water Resources is left to the President
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo has emphasised that he is leaving the determination of the Director General for Cipta Karya (Dirjen CK) and Water Resources (SDA) entirely to President Prabowo Subianto, after proposing several candidate names for these strategic positions. Dody stated that he only has the authority to propose names, while the final decision is entirely the prerogative of Prabowo Subianto in selecting the officials. “It’s like this, I only have the obligation to propose, right? That’s the prerogative of President Prabowo Subianto. So, I can’t ask which one he wants to choose. I’m really leaving it entirely to him,” Dody said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. He conveyed that he is fully submitting that decision to the President and is confident that whoever is chosen will be a professional figure capable of carrying out duties well. “And I’m certain that whoever he chooses will definitely be a professional,” he said. He also revealed that he has submitted many names for the President’s consideration so that there are various options in determining the most suitable figure for the organisation’s future needs. However, Dody did not detail how many names were proposed. “Whether from inside here or from outside, from wherever, I’m certain they are professionals who can manage and help me manage the Ministry of Public Works to be even better in the coming years,” he said. Nevertheless, Dody acknowledged that not all proposed names will be selected because the President may have other considerations and views in making the final decision. “So, it’s entirely up to him. We are aligned, ready to move, if someone comes, we’ll maximise what he gives us. That’s it,” Dody said. Previously, Dody mentioned that two directors general in the Ministry of Public Works resigned due to findings by the Financial Audit Board (BPK) regarding indications of state losses in the ministry of around Rp1 trillion. The two officials were Director General for Cipta Karya Dewi Chomistriana and Director General for Water Resources (SDA) Dwi Purwantoro.
