Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo has revealed the existence of several irregularities within his ministry based on the results of reading the draft audit report that he recently received in full. He stated that these anomalies were already apparent from the beginning when he only received a brief presentation in the form of slides. “The first thing I received was in the form of a PowerPoint, just two or three sheets. But I felt uncomfortable reading that PowerPoint,” said Dody, quoted on Wednesday (1/4/2026). This suspicion prompted Dody to request the full report document. After studying it, he admitted to finding many things that did not make sense. “Indeed, there are many irregularities. In my personal opinion, there are many irregularities. So it can be said that almost everything discussed from the beginning lacks evidence,” he said. According to him, various findings in the report are not supported by strong evidence, including allegations of serious violations such as corruption crimes (Tipikor). “There’s nothing that intersects, nothing, even though the evidence exists. Basically, almost everything lacks it. Especially when talking about Tipikor,” he said. Dody also highlighted the anomaly in the audit object, which targeted him as the minister rather than the parties that should have been examined. “The one audited is the Minister of PU. So it’s not auditing two Director Generals, no. The one audited is the Minister of PU like that. So I’m confused, why me?” he said. He emphasised that these irregularity findings are based on documents he holds directly. “Yes, it’s proven to me. I have the evidence. I have the draft report,” said Dody. One example of the irregularity he revealed is the discovery of fund collection deemed illogical in terms of timing. “Indeed, there is fund collection. Fund collection of around Rp100 million for the deceased. The fund collection in 2022, the death in 2025,” he revealed. Dody assessed that these various irregularities need to be explored further before further steps are taken. “Like that. But that’s one thing, once again it’s a draft. I still need to delve deeper with Mrs Director General. What’s the problem here?” he said. He assured that he will conduct internal clarifications to trace these findings further.
