Minister Denies Imminent Cabinet Reshuffle Amid August Speculation
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto currently has no plans to reshuffle the cabinet. He was responding to speculation about a potential reshuffle in early August. “A reshuffle? For now, there isn’t one. Even if there were, pardon me, it might be to fill vacancies in several positions left by former officials due to changes,” Prasetyo said in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday (30/7/2026). He confirmed that the positions of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections are vacant. Sudaryono, who previously held the Deputy Minister of Agriculture post, was moved to become Head of the National Nutrition Agency, while Silmy Karim, who held the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Corrections position, has been named a suspect in a corruption case. Prasetyo further admitted that no discussions regarding a cabinet reshuffle have been held with the president. “But honestly, we haven’t, and the President hasn’t discussed any plans for a replacement or cabinet reshuffle yet,” he stated.
