Minister Denies Imminent Cabinet Reshuffle Amid August Speculation

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Minister Secretary of State (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto currently has no plans to reshuffle his cabinet.

The statement came in response to questions regarding rumours of a cabinet reshuffle in early August.

“A reshuffle? For now, there is none. Even if there were, I apologise, if for instance there were any changes, it would perhaps be to fill vacancies in several positions left behind by former officials,” said Prasetyo in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday (30/7/2026).

He confirmed that one of the vacant positions is the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Affairs (Imipas).

Sudaryono, who held the post of Deputy Minister of Agriculture, was moved to become Head of the National Nutrition Agency, whilst Silmy Karim, who served as Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Affairs, was implicated in corruption cases and has already been named a suspect.

Furthermore, Prasetyo admitted that there has yet to be any discussion with the President regarding a cabinet reshuffle.

“But to be honest, we have not yet — the President has also not yet discussed plans for any changes or a cabinet reshuffle,” he said.
