Minister Calls for Commitment from All Parties to Successfully Update National Single Socio-Economic Data
Jakarta - Indonesia’s Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Region Development (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto has called for serious commitment from all relevant parties in updating the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN).
According to the minister, speaking in Jakarta on Friday, accurate data serves as the foundation for central government planning, distribution of assistance, and providing legal certainty for every citizen in need.
“This is the key to targeted assistance, targeted village development, targeted community empowerment, and so on. This data is highly dynamic – people pass away, people are born. Some are poor, some are no longer poor,” he said.
The minister made these remarks while attending a DTSEN socialisation event at Pondok Pesantren Bai Mahdi Sholeh Ma’mun in Serang Regency, Banten, on Thursday 12 March.
Yandri stressed that synergy among stakeholders is a concrete and essential step to ensure social assistance is distributed in a targeted manner and to integrate village facilitators with family hope programme (PKH) facilitators for community empowerment.
“Alhamdulillah, we from the Ministry of Villages are collaborating with the Ministry of Social Affairs today on the President’s priority programme. Why collaborate? Because we cannot do it alone. Working separately is difficult, especially with data,” said the minister from South Bengkulu.
Furthermore, the minister noted that through Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025, DTSEN is mandatory as the single data reference for all ministries, agencies, and local governments. This ensures there is no longer differing data between institutions.
He warned that inaccurate data can result in eligible persons not receiving assistance, whilst those with sufficient means do receive it. Therefore, DTSEN has emerged as a solution to ensure assistance reaches the correct target, including citizens in remote villages.
