Minister Bahlil Says Indonesia Will Import US$15 Billion in Oil and Gas Per Year from the United States

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia announced that Indonesia has agreed to import oil and gas worth up to US$15 billion, or approximately Rp 253.47 trillion, per year from the United States to bolster domestic energy security.

The commitment was disclosed during a press conference in Washington DC on Friday (20 February 2026) regarding the Indonesia-United States reciprocal trade agreement (ART) in the energy and mineral resources sector.

Minister Bahlil was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri, and Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo at the briefing.
