Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has assured that the national energy supply remains secure, especially to meet needs during the Eid return period for Lebaran 2026/Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah.

Bahlil stated that his team has conducted direct monitoring of energy supply conditions, including at the 35i SPBU Rest Area 519B in Sragen and SPBU 44.577.09 Bolon in Karanganyar, Central Java.

“We checked the availability of fuel, both diesel and petrol, including SPKLU for electric vehicle charging and some power plants,” Bahlil said at the Bolon SPBU in Karanganyar, as reported from Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Bahlil, national energy resilience has been maintained throughout the Lebaran transportation period, particularly from 10 days before Eid al-Fitr until now.

“Alhamdulillah, we can report that through teamwork and cooperation from the public, the ESDM sector task force, from 10 days before the holiday until now, Alhamdulillah, it has gone well,” he said.

Bahlil conveyed that the Ministry of ESDM ensures that public needs, especially regarding fuel and LPG availability, are met during the homecoming and return periods for Eid al-Fitr.

Thus, the public can enjoy gathering time with family in their hometowns peacefully and comfortably.

In addition, in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate, Bahlil also emphasised that the government continues to guarantee national energy supply and stability, amid global fuel supply instability disrupted by the war in the Middle East.

Bahlil also urged the public not to panic and to use energy wisely.

“The President’s order is to immediately seek oil supplies from all countries. Then optimise all the energy we have. I must assure the Indonesian people that we will no longer import diesel, Insya Allah,” Bahlil said.

“So, it’s clear. For fuel in the form of petrol, about 50 percent we still import, part domestically. But we are already seeking alternatives, including crude oil,” Bahlil added emphatically.

Furthermore, he stressed that the government cannot operate alone but needs public support by using available energy wisely.

“If cooking with LPG, once the food is cooked, don’t waste the stove. And this SPBU is not for industry, so please use it prudently,” he said.

“Because we really need to ask for the people’s help to jointly use energy wisely,” he added.
