Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi has stated that his ministry is still awaiting the finalisation of a presidential regulation (perpres) that will serve as the legal basis for implementing a maximum 8% commission cut on ride-hailing drivers (ojol). According to him, the finalisation process is currently in the hands of the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg). “Oh, we are still waiting for the finalisation of the perpres from the State Secretariat,” Dudy said at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta, on Monday. Dudy explained that the Ministry of Transportation will immediately follow up once the presidential regulation is officially finalised. However, he could not yet confirm when the rule will come into effect. “We must coordinate with the State Secretariat first,” he added. The provision regarding the reduction of commission cuts for ride-hailing drivers to a maximum of 8% has been stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026. Under this policy, platform companies or applicators are only permitted to deduct a maximum of 8% from driver earnings. Consequently, at least 92% of the income must be received by the driver partners. Despite this, the regulation has yet to be enforced in practice. Deductions applied by several applicators currently still reach around 20%.
