Minister Arifah: Give children space to learn and be creative

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi emphasised the importance of a commitment to providing children with space to learn, be creative, and develop their potential. “I appreciate the commitment of Soka Gakkai Indonesia, which continues to provide space for children to learn, be creative, and develop their potential,” said Minister Arifah Fauzi in Jakarta on Monday. She made the remarks while attending the 2026 National Children’s Day celebration organised by the Buddhist community organisation Soka Gakkai Indonesia in Jakarta. According to her, the theme carried by Soka Gakkai Indonesia, “Aku Bisa, Aku Hebat, Aku Indonesia” (I Can, I Am Great, I Am Indonesia), aligns with the spirit of the 2026 National Children’s Day theme, which is “Sayang Anak, Lindungi, dan Bangun Masa Depan” (Love Children, Protect Them, and Build the Future). “The spirit of Soka Gakkai to participate in realising Indonesian children who grow into a confident, empowered, and quality generation deserves our appreciation, and I hope Soka Gakkai’s commitment to children can be maintained,” said Minister Arifah Fauzi. “To the children of Soka Gakkai Indonesia, keep learning and growing. Do not hesitate to dream, dare to speak up, express yourselves, and innovate. You are an important part of Indonesia’s future,” she added. Meanwhile, Chairman of Soka Gakkai Indonesia Antonius Polim said the organisation views children as the hope of the future who have potential and the right to grow and receive opportunities to develop themselves. “Children are envoys from the future. Every child carries a unique mission and they deserve happiness and the opportunity to grow,” said Antonius. According to him, parents not only educate children but can also learn from children to become more patient, sincere, and loving individuals. The Soka Gakkai Indonesia 2026 National Children’s Day celebration is part of a collective effort to provide a space for children to grow, learn, be creative, and develop their potential. Collaboration between the government, families, communities, and various parties is needed to ensure children grow and develop optimally in a safe and comfortable environment.
