Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait stated that the director general who resigned, namely Director General of Governance and Risk Control Azis Andriansyah, is returning to his original agency in the police force.

“The rule from the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) indeed prohibits personnel from the police. So, they are returned to their agency. Returned to the police,” said Ara, the familiar name for Maruarar, when met in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Azis Andriansyah is a graduate of the Police Academy in 1998 and pursued police education up to Sespimti as well as academic education to the PhD level. Before becoming a director general, Azis held various strategic positions in the police, such as Chief of Depok Police Resort.

Meanwhile, Ara did not provide further explanation regarding the resignation of Director General of Rural Housing Imran. Unlike Azis, Imran has a background as a civil servant (PNS) who previously served in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On that occasion, Ara stated that Azis and Imran had good performance during their tenure as officials in the Ministry of PKP.

“Their performance is good. Their performance is very good,” said Ara.

Furthermore, Ara has appointed Acting Director General of Governance and Risk Control of the Ministry of PKP, Roberia, to replace Azis.

“Mr Minister of Housing wants to show that the Ministry of PKP is a ministry that adheres to the law. In Polri Regulation Number 10 of 2025 Article 3 paragraph (2), the Ministry of PKP is not included among those that can be occupied by Polri,” said Roberia.

Regarding the appointment of Imran’s replacement, Roberia stated that there is already a replacement, but did not reveal the name.

“There is already (a replacement). It can’t be left empty,” he said.

On that occasion, Roberia stated that he has been Acting Director General of Governance and Risk Control of the Ministry of PKP for three days. He was given a mandate by Ara to ensure that the 3 million housing development programme runs efficiently and free from corruption.
