Minister Ara Inspects Meikarta Housing Project with Lippo Group CEO

Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait visited the Meikarta housing complex construction project in Bekasi Regency, West Java. Accompanying the minister were Deputy Head of BUMN Oversight Agency Tedi Bharata and Lippo Group CEO James Riady. Minister PKP Maruar, commonly known as Ara, arrived at the Meikarta housing complex construction site at approximately 9:52 AM WIB. Shortly after, he inspected the construction progress. During the inspection, he viewed the site from a small hill, offering a comprehensive view of the entire Meikarta housing complex.

Ara pledged that the housing project would be completed on schedule, providing suitable accommodation for residents, particularly those working in the Cikarang-Bekasi industrial areas. ‘We are eager to see residents obtaining decent and suitable housing close to their workplaces in the industrial zones, which is why we will continue developing these housing complexes,’ Ara told reporters at Meikarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Ara stated that 1,836 foundation piles have been constructed out of a total of 8,600. ‘Currently, 1,836 foundation piles have been constructed out of a total of 8,600,’ he said.

The subsidized Meikarta housing complex will be spread across three sites, each spanning 10 hectares and comprising 18 towers. Each tower will have 30 floors, offering three unit types: single-bedroom units of 25 square metres, two-bedroom units of 35 square metres, and three-bedroom units of 45 square metres.

The keys are expected to be handed over to prospective residents by August-September 2026, with the overall construction completion targeted for August 2028. ‘The construction completion target remains on schedule, August 2028,’ he added.
