Minister Announces Additional 3,400 Invitations for Independence Day Ceremony at Palace

State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has welcomed the public’s enthusiasm in registering for invitations to the 81st Indonesian Independence Day commemoration at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The chairman of the national organising committee for the Independence Day event announced an additional capacity for 3,400 invited guests.

“In relation to this, as committee chairman and as State Secretary, I would like to express my gratitude to all Indonesian citizens who have participated in the ticket war to obtain an invitation,” Pras said at the DPR RI complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (10/8/2026).

Pras explained that the capacity of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta is limited. During the four days that registration for invited guests was open, he noted that the number of registrants reached 336,000 people.

“However, we must convey that the capacity or the size of the palace is also very limited. So, from the agenda or the roughly 5,500 slots we prepared, the number of registrants over the four days it was open reached over 336,000 people,” he said.

Pras appreciated the public’s enthusiasm for attending the Independence Day commemoration with President Prabowo Subianto at the palace. He then announced that the committee had decided to open one additional block that can accommodate 3,400 invited guests.

“So once again, we express our thanks. This shows and proves that the public’s enthusiasm to attend the proclamation moment is very high, and because of that, yesterday we decided as the committee to create one additional block with a capacity of around 3,400,” he said.
