Mining Trucks Banned from Operating in Tangerang During 13-30 March Exodus Period
The Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) through its Transportation Department (Dishub) has implemented an operational ban on large-tonnage trucks during the 2026 Eid exodus and return traffic period.
The Head of Tangerang Regency’s Transportation Department, Jaenudin, stated that vehicles in Classes III, IV, and V are prohibited from using toll roads or arterial roads within Tangerang Regency from 13 March to 30 March 2026.
“Particularly on 13 road sections that will undergo maintenance, these vehicles are not permitted to pass at all,” Jaenudin said on Wednesday (11 March).
Jaenudin revealed that the Tangerang Regency Transportation Department has established 19 monitoring posts distributed across various locations to oversee implementation of the policy.
Of the total 19 monitoring posts, he detailed that 15 posts are permanent posts operated by the Transportation Department, whilst four additional posts are joint posts established together with police forces, involving the Metro Tangerang Police, Tangerang Police, and South Tangerang Police.
“The permanent and joint monitoring posts have been established to carry out stricter enforcement and joint supervision,” he explained.
Additionally, approximately 450 combined personnel from the Transportation Department, National Police and Civil Police have been deployed to monitor mining truck operations during the operational ban period.
“We have also reinforced personnel. We have deployed 200 personnel from the Transportation Department, the police have provided 250 personnel, and the Civil Police are also providing additional personnel to strengthen the monitoring and joint posts,” he said.
Jaenudin emphasised that the authority will impose sanctions, including reviewing the permits of companies that continue to operate mining trucks during the ban period.
“We will review the permits of companies that continue to operate trucks for earth transportation or similar activities during the ban period,” he stressed.
