Investment Minister and BKPM Chief Rosan P. Roeslani stated that the mining sector's contribution reaches 22 to 23 per cent of total national investment. "We can see that the contribution from the mining industry, as has been conveyed, is truly extraordinary and very significant, including its downstream products and downstreamisation," said Rosan on Thursday, 24 April 2025.

Rosan explained that total investment flowing into Indonesia during the January to March 2025 period reached Rp465.2 trillion, or approximately 24.4 per cent of the annual target of Rp1,905 trillion. This figure represented a 15.9 per cent increase compared with the first quarter of the previous year.

The BKPM Chief, who also serves as Danantara CEO, said he had reported these achievements to President Prabowo Subianto. "Yesterday I reported to the President that in this first quarter, total investment entering Indonesia from both domestic and foreign sources was approximately Rp465.2 trillion," Rosan affirmed.

According to him, incoming investment flows originated from various sectors, with the top five comprising basic metals, non-machinery metal goods and smelters, which contributed 14.5 per cent. This was followed by the transportation, warehousing and electronics sector at 14.3 per cent, mining at 10.4 per cent, other services at 8.8 per cent, and industrial estates and office complexes at 8.1 per cent.

Despite prevailing global uncertainty driven by heightened geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions, Rosan emphasised that Indonesia's investment trend continues to demonstrate strong and stable performance.
