Mining Facility Requirements Open Market for Modular Spaces
The demand for facilities at project sites is becoming increasingly diverse, as industrial operations do not always remain in a single location for the long term. This condition has made the concept of spaces that can be installed, moved, or adjusted to specific needs an emerging alternative for the mining, plantation, construction, and other industrial sectors.
The modular space concept is one of the approaches offered to meet these requirements. During the Mining Indonesia 2026 event, held from 9–12 September 2026 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, Jakarta, HAMURE—a brand providing modular and prefabricated space solutions from PT Sinar Bintang Mulia—introduced several space solutions for operational and residential needs.
Commercial Director of HAMURE, Irhandy Yaputra, stated that the nature of projects, which can change in terms of both location and requirements, makes facility flexibility a key consideration in development.
“Industries require spaces that are not only quick to build but also flexible. With a modular system, spaces can be adjusted to needs, moved when project locations change, and even expanded or reduced according to operational developments,” Irhandy said in a statement on Thursday (10/9/2026).
According to Irhandy, constructing facilities using conventional methods can involve relatively long processes and timeframes. Meanwhile, projects in the mining, construction, and plantation sectors possess site characteristics and facility requirements that can shift alongside operational progress.
A modular system allows part of the construction process to be completed through pre-produced components, which are then assembled on-site. This approach is suitable for space requirements that necessitate relatively short installation times and the possibility of changes in function or location.
At the exhibition, HAMURE showcased several modular products, including Expandable Houses, one and two-storey Detachable Houses, and Portable Toilets. These products are offered for both residential needs and supporting facilities at project sites.
“Our solutions are not limited to housing or camp facilities. HAMURE’s modular concept can also be used for various lifestyle needs, such as cafés, studios, or other multi-functional spaces,” said Irhandy.
Beyond project requirements, the modular concept can be applied to other functions requiring spaces with different configurations. HAMURE offers various products, such as Apple Cabins, Mountain Houses, Folding Houses, and Portable Toilets, which can be applied to the mining, plantation, construction, industrial, property, and hospitality sectors.
Irhandy noted that changing requirements are a primary consideration in using modular spaces, as users can adjust facilities without always having to build new structures from scratch.
“We see many opportunities for collaboration with industry players, particularly in providing facilities at operational and project sites. We want to demonstrate that modular space can be a practical and adaptive solution for various needs,” Irhandy added.
The development of this concept indicates a growing need for facility construction models that consider not only construction speed but also usage flexibility. For industries with dynamic locations and project scales, the ability to adapt facilities can be a decisive factor in determining the chosen construction model.
